Skin is first treated with BLUE BBL light to eliminate acne-causing bacteria at its source, deep down in the pores.
Skin is then treated with YELLOW BBL light to reduce the inflammation and acne-associated redness to give you healthy, luminous skin.
For added benefit, the skin is then treated with SkinTyte II™ using INFRA-RED light in rapid, gentle pulses to initiate the body’s natural healing process. For added benefit, follow your personalized plan including add-on and follow-up treatments, as well as a skincare regimen to keep your skin lasting clear.
Those with a higher Firzpatrick score, those with a tan or active sunburn, and those with melasma are not good candidates. Those who are pregnant, on antibiotics or accutane, have epilepsy/light sensitivity or seizures are not a candidate for this treatment. While BBL treatments don’t require any downtime, we do require a consultation before this treatment to make sure you are an ideal candidate. A series of treatments are needed for optimal results. Forever Clear Acne appointments are usually about 1 hour, depending on the area being treated. Our device has a built-in cooling mechanism for your comfort. You can expect your skin to be a little red directly after the treatment but that will subside within the next hour. Expect to feel some heat during the actual treatment as we want to heat up the tissue to a certain degree to get the best results. We will apply SPF before you leave. Be careful in the sun for the following 2 weeks after a treatment. A series of treatments and at home skin care is highly recommended.
Before Your Appointment:
· It is imperative that you avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 4 weeks prior to your appointment. You will be rescheduled if you come to your appointment with an active sunburn or tan.
· Avoid any irritants to your skin, such as any products containing Tretinion, Retin-A, Benzoyl Peroxide, Gycolic/SalicylicAcids, or Astringents for one week before your treatment.
· Avoid use of Antibiotics such as Tetracycline or Minocycline for 2 weeks prior to your treatment.
· Patients must be off Accutane for at least 6months prior to the treatment.
· Do not wax or use depilatory creams on treatment area for one week prior to your treatment to avoid irritation.
· Wear SPF of 30 or higher every day
· If you have a history of cold sores, notify your technician as soon as possible. We will write you a prescription for an antiviral to start on the day of your treatment to prevent a flare up.
The Day of Your Appointment:
· If possible, please arrive with a clean face free of makeup and/or lotions.
· Please complete all paperwork prior to your appointment so that you may enjoy the entire allotted appointment time.
· Allow for an hour for your appointment depending on the areas being treated.
· Pre treatment photos will be taken.
· You will be given protective eye shields to wear during your treatment.
After Care Instructions:
· Makeup may be worn immediately after the treatment if desired.
· Avoid direct sun exposure and excessive heat for2 weeks post treatment.
· Avoid hot showers, saunas, exercise, and anyother activities that could raise your internal temperature for 24 hours post treatment.
· Do not use harsh scrubs or acids for 72 hours post treatment. These include exfoliating scrubs, Tretinion, Retin-A, Benzoyl Peroxide, Glycolic/Salicylic acid, or Astringents.
· Wear SPF 30 or greater, even on cloudy days!
