How to Dry Brushing?

Do this before hopping in the shower, but don’t go scrubbing crazy. You’re not supposed to be really red or scratched after. Avoid your face and chest completely, and be a little tougher on your knees, elbows, ankles, and feet. Then, when you’re ready to shower, cleanse with a mild moisturizing body wash. A bold scrub or anti-acne wash may leave the skin irritated. Finish it all off with your favorite body oil while your skin is still damp after the shower. The dry brushing process itself shouldn’t take too long, two minutes is plenty to be rewarded with skin that feels soft, smooth, and refreshed.
What are the benefits?
The exfoliation part is easy to understand. Gentle dry brushing will slough off dead, dry skin to improve appearance and allowing highly effective hydration. There are also talk that dry brushing helps to detoxify the body; this is true. As in massage, dry brushings light pressure against the skin help move lymph fluid into the lymph nodes so the waste can be eliminated. Your body does this naturally, however brushing speed up the process and at the same time boosts circulation. As for the endless claims that dry brushing can reduce cellulite, this is not true. This is just a gentle exfoliating treatment. Cellulite treatments are no walk in the park, they involve more pain than simply scrubbing.
How to tell if it’s working?
Of course, your skin should feel softer, smoother, and more hydrated after just one session. It’s been stated that some people even say the detox and circulatory boost helps with digestive issues and skin problems such as acne and eczema. Others claim to feel more energized, most likely a results from the increased blood flow the dry brushing produces. There’s even a way to test if you’re releasing toxins: Wipe your body with a dry washcloth right after brushing, then store the close in a zip lock bag. After a few days later, give it a whiff, supposedly you will recognize that toxins were released. Kinda gross, I know, but hey it’s interesting to know if it actually works!
