6 Tricks that Will Make you Look Younger
Look Younger with Makeup:
Makeup is a wonderful tool to help women of all ages feel confident, beautiful, and put together (not that we need it). However, as we age makeup can actually work against us if we’re not using it correctly. Doing the same old tricks that you did in your teens and 20’s doesn't work on a maturing face. In conjunction with drinking a lot of water and living a healthy lifestyle, knowledge of how to effectively use both skincare and makeup products is critical in your regimen. Try these tricks to turn back the clock.
Moisturize:
This one is obvious but worth repeating because of how crucial it is. While your face is still damp from cleansing, slather on a moisturizer, let it sink in and do its job, and then apply your tinted SPF or foundation. If you want to go the extra mile, spritz a hydrating facial spray throughout the day to insure you look refreshed.
Use Hydrating Makeup:
Don’t stop the hydration routine after the moisturizer. Choose products with moisture-rich formulas, avoid mattifying makeup, and try cream versions of the cosmetic product. Using matte and powder formulas only accentuate fine lines and wrinkles by seeping and setting into them. Choose liquid concealer, cream blush and bronzers, and ALWAYS keep those lips moisturized with a balm.
Create more natural brows:
Thin, overly tweezed and shaped eyebrows aren’t in. That style is dated and will only age your face. Thick, natural brows are associated with youth now. However, if your brows are thinning from the many years of over plucking, don’t fret. Fill them in with a tinted gel or powder to tame and thicken. Or invest in Microblading, a semi-permanent makeup option that fills in and shapes your brows with individual hair strokes.
Curl Your Lashes:
Curling your lashes is one of the quickest and easiest parts of a makeup routine. Eyelashes flatten as you age, so keeping them curled makes your eyes look bigger and brighter. For extra curly lashes that will last all day, heat up the curler with a hair dryer till it’s warm (NOT hot, if too hot it will burn your skin so please be careful). Get the curler as close to the lash line as possible and curl for 10-15 seconds. Then use a lengthening mascara to really make your eyes pop. You could also invest in a Lash Lift & Tint treatment to keep your lashes dark and curled for up to 6 weeks!
Lighten Up:
Tinted moisturizer with luminescent particles or light-reflecting liquids foundations is best for aging skin. Pressed powder settles into wrinkles and makes the skin look even older, reflective formulas create the appearance of a glowing complexion. Dot the foundation all over your face in small amounts, then use a damp sponge or foundation brush to blend flawlessly.
Give a little lip:
While lip liner sounds like a dated beauty trend, it’s not if done correctly. If you remembering the days where a dark liner was accompanied with a light lip color, that’s not that were talking about. Choose a creamy formula that is the same shade as your lipstick. The liner gives your lips a fuller and more defined shape, which usually begins to lack as we age. Additionally, the liner will act as a border and prevent lipstick bleeding into any fine lines.
