About Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning is a deeper exfoliating treatment to slough off dry skin cells and vellus hair (peach fuzz). Performed by our Certified Estheticians, Dermaplaning is painless (feels like light brushing) and requires no downtime. Our treatment includes an enzyme exfoliation to lift up any remaining dry skin cells, followed by steam and extractions to deep clean pores, and finishing with medical grade products to hydrate and protect. Dermaplaning is also a great compliment to any Hydrafacial or a Chemical Peel.

Benefits of Dermaplaning

Exfoliating off the first layer of skin cells will allow products we use in office, and the ones you use at home, to penetrate deeper and be more effective. Along with the dry skin, Dermaplaning also removes fine vellus hair (peach fuzz), leaving your skin incredibly smooth and bright. In the long run, Dermaplaning can help with hyperpigmentation, skin texture, pores, and it creates a smoother canvas for perfect makeup application.

Dermaplane for All Skin Types

Only individuals with active acne or those who are on Accutane are not a candidate for Dermaplaning. This is a great treatment for clients who are pregnant or nursing that want a deep exfoliation but are not allowed to use acids and other ingredients on the skin. We recommend Dermaplaning for clients who are prone to broken capillaries and should not do Microdermabrasion or clients who have excess vellus hair on the face.

Will the hair grow back thicker or darker?

This is a common misunderstanding and the answer is no. Dermaplaning will not cause the hair to grow back thicker or darker, this is physiologically impossible.  The soft, fine vellus hair will grow back slowly – usually in about 3 - 4 weeks.
